Role and Responsibilities
A client-facing role requiring interaction with senior leaders, department heads, and third-party professionals.
Roles in typical projects include
Maintaining a detailed project plan with key milestones and timelines; providing weekly progress reports.
Reviewing project documents (e.g., shareholders agreements, share subscription agreements, lenders agreements) and providing comments.
Compiling and organising client information, conducting thorough reviews, and distributing data to relevant project stakeholders.
Maintaining the virtual data room.
Preparing various industry/company analyses for benchmarking.
Assisting in preparing required project documentation.
Facilitating legal counsels and merchant bankers in due diligence.
Coordinating and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely task completion.
Coordinating with internal resources and external stakeholders (e.g., merchant bankers, legal counsels, lenders, auditors, and investors) for project execution.
Coordinating documentation such as proposal notes, MoUs, SHAs, Term Sheets, DRHP, etc.
Contributing with commercial insights and understanding the impact of decisions.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation/data room.
Ensuring quality control by following orderly processes.
Conducting financial assessments on the project’s historical and projected financials.
Conducting extensive market and industry research.
To succeed in this role, prior experience in the following is advantageous:
Fundraising (debt/equity)
Investor relationship management
Strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, divestments, due diligences, and capital market exposures (e.g., IPOs).
Education, Experience, and Skills
CA/CFA/CMA/CPA or MBA Finance with no more than 2 years post-qualification experience.
Experience in strategic business roles, investor management, or capital market transactions, particularly from the Chairman’s or MD’s office.
Interaction with leadership or senior management teams.
Proficient in advanced accounting; knowledge of regulations such as LODR, ICDR, and the Companies Act is advantageous.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, commercially astute.
Capable of handling large data loads methodically.
Intuitive with conflict management abilities.
Strong people management skills, including coordination with external agencies.
Hands-on, and adaptable to various roles to achieve goals.
Proactive, detail-oriented problem solver.
High ownership and commitment, able to work independently under pressure.
Clear communication skills.
Continuous learner.
Adaptable to dynamic structures and undefined environments.
Willing to travel or be stationed outside HQ as needed for transaction oversight.
